Shecyclesolo will attempt to cycle around Australia from 9/7/2012 to 25/11/2012 for the White Ribbon Foundation. The fundraising goal is to raise awareness and dollars through donations for the foundation.

White Ribbon is Australia’s campaign to stop violence against women. Men are encouraged to swear an oath never to commit, excuse or remain silent about violence against women. By swearing the Oath and wearing a white ribbon on 25 November (White Ribbon Day), we recognise those promoting positive attitudes and behaviours towards women.

White Ribbon Ambassadors lead the campaign by living these values at home, work and in the community, and by being a role model for other men and boys. The Ambassador supporting Theaussiechallenge is world record holder and Qld police officer, David Alley. Dave rode into Redcliffe on the 22/10/2011 after cycling around Australia in 37 days taking over 3 days off the previous record and raising $20,000 for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Dave’s strength and character is recognized by the Courier Mail through nomination for the Community Spirit Medal in News Limited’s 2012 Pride of Australia Awards http://www.racearoundaus.com.au

I ask you to take the oath as a symbol of your commitment to stand up for the women in your life.  Swear now at http://www.whiteribbon.org.au/myoath

I also thank you for your donation to help white ribbon foundation bring positive change and build a safer world for future generations.

I invite you to follow my progress through the blog and share the adventure.

Kind regards
